 It's been around a long time but it's still great!
I subscribed to "Wired" years ago. In fact, I think I still have the very first issue they ever published! At some point I let my subscription lapse. I was busy with a lot of other stuff. I am so happy to be receiving it again! When the first issue arrived, I read it voraciously, cover to cover! Now I've received the second and am working on that! It contains lots about what's new and coming in the future, in technology, the sciences, music, business, you name it. It's well-designed and fun to read. If you're a geek or just someone who finds information about new things that might be happening in not-so-far-distant future a turn-on, then you'll probably love "Wired."
 great gift idea
i bought this subscription for a 15 year old nephew. I had no idea what to get him for his birthday but it turns out WIRED has made him think and ask questions. I'm glad I didn't go for the rolling stone subscription. This actually has educational content and is helping him think about the future of technology and that it actually relates to and involves him.
Variety of articles was fascinating!
This is the first issue of Wired I've read. Couldn't believe the variety of articles: 1)Why companies are "selling" product for free;2)Autism from the inside view; 3)The re-floating of a capsized cargo ship..carrying over 4,000 Mazdas by a salvage company..and so on. Had to read it cover to cover..am now a subscriber.
